FDI into Vietnam remains steady amid global uncertainties: WB
Vietnam continues to attract steady FDI, with manufacturing being the main sector of interest. FDI commitments for the first 10 months of 2023 reached $25.7 billion, showing a 14.7% increase from the same period in 2022. The country's industrial production index has been positive, and exports and imports of goods have increased. However, domestic consumption remains subdued and slow credit growth reflects weak private domestic investment. Hanoi is ranked third among localities in FDI attraction, with a projected attraction of approximately $484.8 million for the remaining two months of 2023. The city aims to attract around $3.15 billion in FDI for 2024.
