Phuket Officials Request Budget for Water Supply Pipeline Construction
Phuket officials are requesting a budget exceeding 3 billion baht for the construction of a water supply pipeline from Phang Nga to Phuket to resolve ongoing water issues and boost tourism. The island's three primary reservoirs currently hold 91.5% of their total combined capacity, which will be crucial during the dry season. The Phuket branch of the Provincial Waterworks Authority is also working on fortifying water supply. The governor has proposed a medium-term solution and explored the possibility of a raw water pipeline from Ratchaprapha Dam in Surat Thani.
