Pattaya Experiences Remarkable Tourism Resurgence with 90% Hotel Occupancy
Pattaya's hotel industry is booming with room occupancy rates soaring above 90%, fueled by a surge in tourists from China, Russia, and India, as well as a resurgence in domestic travel. The resurgence is attributed to the arrival of Russian tourists escaping the cold and conflict in Ukraine, the return of Chinese tourists, and a notable increase in Indian visitors. Thai tourists have also shown a growing interest in domestic travel to Pattaya, with last-minute reservations becoming the norm. This surge bodes well for Pattaya's tourism industry's recovery from the pandemic. In related news, Thai hotels are identified as the top emitters of greenhouse gases in the region, emitting 0.064 tonnes of carbon per guest per night, surpassing regional and global averages.
