Explosion in Chiang Mai leaves residents grappling with damages and financial burdens
Nearly one year after a devastating fireworks factory explosion in San Thung Mai village of Chiang Mai, residents are still waiting for compensation. The explosion, which occurred last July, affected 38 homes, with some residents incurring close to 200,000 baht in repair costs. The factory has not provided any compensation, but the local municipality has allocated a budget to assist with initial repairs. Residents are advised to file a legal complaint against the factory.
