Thailand's Tourism Authority to Boost Chiang Mai Tourism with Year-round Campaigns
The Tourism Authority of Thailand plans to launch campaigns to bolster tourism in Chiang Mai, following a surge in tourist numbers. Domestic tourists made up 73% of the influx, with China, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Malaysia being the top sources of international visitors. Revenue for the tourism industry saw a 47% increase in the first three quarters of last year. Chiang Mai International Airport's 24-hour operation, new tourist routes, and an all-year tourism campaign are expected to sustain the growth.
