Indian Prime Minister to attend BIMSTECS summit
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will join other leaders at the BIMSTECS summit, which aims to foster economic growth and sustainability in the Bay of Bengal region. The summit, originally scheduled for last year, will see participation from leaders of Bhutan, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. Thailand, the current chair of BIMSTECS, plans to host a foreign ministerial retreat in New Delhi in July. Bangladesh is set to take over as the next chair from 2026 to 2028.
