Thailand Nearing Legalization of Large-scale Entertainment Complexes with Casinos
Deputy Finance Minister Julapun Amornvivat announced that Thailand is nearing legalization of large-scale entertainment complexes with casinos. The final draft of the bill is expected to be ready for Cabinet deliberations in three to four weeks. The bill, crafted by a special House committee, will include insights from 16 government agencies and will undergo refinement. It is projected to attract investments ranging from 30 billion to 50 billion baht and could significantly boost Thailandās economy. However, protective measures will be proposed to address the potential negative social impact of gambling. Once approved by the Cabinet, the bill will be sent for vetting before being presented to the House of Representatives. A national committee will be established to oversee the project.
