Thailand Begins Senatorial Election for 200 New Members
Thailand has started the senatorial election to appoint 200 new senators, as the term of the current 250 senators appointed by the NCPO has ended. Candidates can apply at district and provincial registration offices with application forms available daily. Election regulations restrict the use of social media and interviews, with elections taking place on June 9, 16, and 26. The new Senate will not have the power to co-elect a prime minister, but will retain other powers.
