One Million Buddhists Gather to Venerate Relics in Bangkok
Over 1 million Buddhists gathered at Sanam Luang in Bangkok to venerate the relics of the Lord Buddha and his chief disciples. The relics, transferred from India, were displayed to celebrate His Majesty the King’s 6th-cycle birthday and to observe Makha Bucha Day. They have now been moved to Chiang Mai for display at the Royal Pavillion until this Friday. Afterwards, they will be exhibited in Ubon Ratchathani and Krabi before being returned to India.
