Thailand PM aims to elevate ties with Vietnam to comprehensive strategic partnership
Thailand PM Srettha Thavisin intends to upgrade relations with Vietnam to a comprehensive strategic partnership. This move comes amid lightning-fast progress in their bilateral ties, with a focus on collaboration across various sectors. Both countries are preparing for their fourth joint Cabinet meeting next year, marking the official declaration of their comprehensive strategic partnership. Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation during his visit to Thailand, emphasizing strengthened collaboration. The leaders aim to boost bilateral trade volume to US$25 billion by 2025, highlighting Thailand's significant role as Vietnam's largest trading partner in ASEAN and second-largest investor in the country. Hue also stressed the vital role of both nations and ASEAN members in promoting peace and stability.
